Mists of Avalon is my favorite of the Arthurian Tales as well, though I do love Susan Cooper’s take on it with The Dark is Rising sequence, though it’s set in modern (at the time of writing) times and tells of the awakening of King Arthur to drive back the Dark. I’ve not read but one of the Darkover books, and I enjoyed it. I think a lot of readers who are not familiar with my next two authors will enjoy them, both LeGuin and Cherryh have some great books!

Great book by a great author. I have also read a few of the Darkover series. Great article can’t wait for part 2 recommendations I haven’t read anything by either author.
